While the future of the series is currently unknown, its continually growing fandom should ensure that more heartbreaking deaths will come eventually. Whenever a death does occur, it doesn't get any less heartbreaking. And with a colorful cast of characters that are easy to love, it's difficult to combat that feeling of dread knowing a favorite may die at any moment. If the killer successfully deceives their classmates, they get to escape and live out the rest of their days while the remaining students are killed.
#MONDO DANGANRONPA TRIAL#
Every time a student dies, the remaining students are forced to undergo a Class Trial where they debate and work through whodunit. For unknown reasons by the hidden mastermind, they are forced to kill one another to survive in a Battle Royale-style game. They attend Hope's Peak Academy, an elite school designed to hone and grow those talents. Each Danganronpa game tells the tale of a group of high school students, each with an immense level of talent in a specific discipline (ex: the Ultimate Nurse or Ultimate Fanfic Creator).
Originally a Japan-only release, before being fully localized for the PlayStation Vita, the series has since been released on the PlayStation 4, PC, and the Nintendo Switch.
